The only copy of my lost sheep circle photos…

In abstracts, landscapes, odd, photos on September 18, 2006 at 12:06 pm

I found this in my email archives, not a great quality version, but the only surviving copy of a pretty unique sight: a circle of sheep up on the road to Wick. The hardest lesson learned on the computer – always make backups! I’m off to do that again now…

Meanwhile, enjoy the sheep circle phenomenon.

Lochinver – Highland Stoneware Pottery

In design, landscapes, photos on March 12, 2006 at 4:12 pm

Pottery Stones

These photos were taken on a visit to Highland Stoneware, Lochinver. All around there are examples of the work, dotted around the landscape. The landscape of the Scottish Highlands seems to be a major influence on the pottery designs as well.

Sheep

Amongst the rocks leading up to the pottery there are sheep, fish, flowers, landscapes and much more.

Landscapes

Loch Assynt features in some of the landscapes, although I couldn’t find a broken pot with their design, here is a picture of the loch, against a rather cloudy sky (how appropriate!).
See their website for a great picture.

And finally: Cheers to the Scottish Weather! I just got this snap in before the cloud level fell too far…
